South African Cheese Festival 2010





It is time to plan your visit to the 2010 SA Cheese Festival at Bien Donné from 24 to 27 April, so make sure you do not miss out on the biggest and most sought after gourmet event of the year, the 9th SA Cheese Festival taking place under the auspices of Agri-Expo.

  • No tickets will be sold at the gate

  • A limited number of tickets for this Cape Winelands event will be on sale at Computicket at R90 pp for the Monday and Tuesday and R110 pp for the Saturday and Sunday

  • The entrance fee includes a shopping bag, festival program, tastings and inspirational demonstrations by some of South Africa's top food fundis

  • Wine tasting glassses at R10 each will be onsale at the gates

  • Discounted tickets for senios citizens will be available at R70 fo the duration of the festival

  • Entry for children 12 years and younger is free

  • Winelands Events Features

    The festival is staged over four days to entice festival goers to taste and purchase their way through literally tons of cheese. Exhibitors will be housed in a Cheese Emporium, Cheese Market, Mall, Gourmet Lane, kiddies Corner and Kiddies Snack Food Lane. The cooking Pot is there for the Studious visitor, while the Market Square, Music Gazebo, Milk Factory and Dairy Square will add to the overall enjoyment at the festival.

  • From Cape Town:


  • Take N1, Exit 47 turn right to Klapmuts, turn left at Franschhoek (R45) sign, turn right to Simondium at stop, turn left at Bien Donné Werf sign.

  • From Paarl:


  • Take R45 to Franschhoek, turn left at Bien Donné Werf Sign onto dirt road

  • From Stellenbosch


  • Take R310 Helshoogte to Franschhoek, turn left to Paarl / Simondium, turn right at Bien Donné Werf onto dirt road

  • From Franschhoek:

    Take R45 to Paarl, turn right at Bien Donné Werf sign onto dirt road

  • Tips for visiting

  • Wear comfortable walking shoes

  • This is an outdoor event – remember your sunglasses and sunscreen or umbrella and water boots

  • Bring a cooler bag for those special cheeses you want to take home

  • Wet wipes are a great help for those sticky fingers

  • Bottled water will be available as well as water dispensers – buy a tasting glass at the gate at only R10.00 or bring your own

  • ATM available

  • Toddlers might be better off in a ‘baby backpack’ than in a push cart

  • Please do not bring any domestic animals to the Festival!!! There is no undercover parking available

  • Read your Festival Programme when entering. You will find all the venue layouts and programmes of events in there

  • Get your free ticket from the Clover stands next to the glass stands at each gate for the Nataniël demo in the Cooking Pot – seats are limited
